Right from the start of the intro you
see, that the typography is in red; this connotes horror. Red is usually symbolized with
death (horror). The typography is also somehow apart of the scenes in intro, at
the beginning of the scene you see a man jumping off a building to escape from
the zombies that are chasing him from behind. The typography appears beneath
the man, the text then shatters into pieces as if he had actually fallen through
it.
The intro establishes what the film
is about by showing different people trying to escape from the clutches of a
zombie. This indicates that the movie is going to be about flesh eating zombies
taking over the world. The genre of the music used in the intro is heavy metal,
this compliments the movie very well as it is very loud and scary.
A variety of shots have been used in
this 2 minute intro: long shot, wide shot, mid shot, mid long shot and close
up. The enigma for this movie could be 'How did this all happen?' 'Is this a
virus? And if so how does it travel?'
